FAQs

  • Unskew is independently owned and operated by students. We fund ourselves and do not monetize our content. If you want to support our mission, consider subscribing to our newsletter!

  • Well, the disappointing answer is that you really shouldn't. Not arbitrarily, at least. Our goal is not to replace conventional news or have you adopt an undisclosed agenda; we want you to be able to decide for yourself what is trustworthy.

  • Nope, no need to! We do not accept donations, but you can support us via our socials and our newsletter.

  • Legally, no. To be a 501(c)(3), tax-exempt nonprofit in the United States, the organization must be recognized by the IRS. We are student-run and not a formally established company or organization, so we do not qualify for the official title. That said, Unskew does not earn profit (or intend to earn profit) from any of our content and services.

  • We never publish explicit content in our newsletter. However, student work and other content may cover "heavy" topics. Furthermore, due to the relatively complex political nature of our content, it may not be as appealing to younger audiences.
